first_img Reply Hahaha………I watched the video posted by SooperMexican on Apopka CommunityFactsUncensored where he quoted Ms. Corrine Brown on something that she didn’t even say! Twisted, twisted, twisted. That was not her direct quote! If she is guilty of anything, then she should be arrested by the fashion police, as her white dress was a crime! What woman wants to look like tent-city? Arrest her now for that wretched fashion crime! 357 years in prison, along with the pants on the ground violators…………there now, will you GOP’s (GRAND OLD PARTYPOOPERS) be happy then? Corrine Brown represents the citizens of U.S. House District 5, which currently includes much of Apopka.Brown pleaded not guilty on Friday to 24 federal counts of conspiracy and fraud. Brown and her chief of staff, Elias “Ronnie” Simmons were indicted for charges related to a fraudulent education charity based in Virginia that was shut down in March. Both are charged with participating in a conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, multiple counts of mail and wire fraud, concealing material facts on required financial disclosure forms, theft of government property, obstruction of the due administration of the internal revenue laws, and filing false tax returns.According to the indictment, Corrine Brown used money from her campaign to give to the charity, One Door for Education and, at times, deposited some of that money into her own personal bank account.Brown and Simmons both entered a not guilty plea. A trial date was set for Sept. 6.If convicted on all charges, Brown could be sentenced up to 357 years in prison and fined $4.8 million. Simmons could face up to 355 years in prison and $4.75 million in fines.Prosecutors claim Brown, Simmons and One Door’s president, Carla Wiley, used money donated to the charity to buy plane tickets, repair their personal cars and to pay for luxury vacations in the Bahamas, Los Angeles and Miami Beach. The indictment said more than $200,000 from the charity was used to pay for Brown to host a golf tournament at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, to pay for lavish receptions, a luxury box at a Beyonce concert and a box when the Jacksonville Jaguars played the Washington Redskins. It seems to me, that there are those at Tallahassee who have been hell-bent on getting her ousted, one way or another. She had to fight tooth and nail over the redrawing of her district. Okay, maybe that was a crazy looking district, when you looked at the borders, the way it had been drawn up before, but she didn’t draw it up herself. Whether one likes Ms. Brown’s strong personality or not, whether you like her politics are not, whether you preferred her opponents in the past races, or this race, the facts support that she is a very strong candidate with the voters, thus making her a target by her opposition. It is interesting to me, that given the fact that there were a whole slew of Tallahassee lawmakers allegedly involved in the non-profit, the Allied Veteran’s Internet Café gambling scandal, where the money took in was suppose to go to the veteran’s organizations, and that is what the public believed, that went there, and spent their money there, when the scandal broke, the slew of lawmakers allegedly involved, was practically kept hush hush. That is, except for the Governor Rick Scott’s next in line, the Lieutenant Governor, who promptly resigned, because of the alleged misdeeds. No inditements there! Or to the other Tallahassee lawmakers who had allegedly accepted the cafe’s money channeled to them routinely, to support their campaigns and personal luxuries, underhandedly. No inditements there! In fact, no one went to prison for that non-profit scam except the Allied Veteran’ s own attorney!!! The operators of the café even got a lot of the money back that had been confiscated, and was returned to them. Big money! So who pushed for this inditement? Was it the Florida Attorney General, Pam Bondi? Please…….I won’t even go there, I read the news stories about her How about all those big game CANNED HUNTING trips to Montana, taken by some of the Tallahassee big wig lawmakers, who went, and those trips were paid for by some secret donors that was kept hush hush? It appears to me that Ms. Brown is being singled out. 357 years in prison, if Ms. Corrine Brown is convicted? Oh please, they would have to make the prison years, possible sentence, the same numbers as a gun, as in a 357 Magnum! Guns on the brain, up there in Tallahassee! 4.8 million fine, possibly for Ms. Brown? They ain’t going to get it! Cold blooded murderers in this state don’t get that kind of sentences handed down………. The Government agency launched to help employers check the criminal recordsof potential staff has not operated as it should have and is still sufferingdelays. In a new report, the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), which is supposed tocheck the background of employees working with children or vulnerable adults, has been heavily criticised by the Government’s spending watchdog, the NationalAudit Office (NAO). The NAO reported that, although things were improving, the CRB had sufferedmassive delays and was still not offering the service it promised. The report blamed business ‘assumptions’ and over ambition for some of thedelays and said the CRB had not undertaken enough market research. The CRB estimated that between 70 and 85 per cent of applications would beby phone or online, when in fact more than 80 per cent were written. Comments are closed.
