Limerick is lit up for Christmas

Fireworks will play a major role in the New Year’s Eve celebrations. Facebook ‘Light Up Limerick’ marks the start of six weeks of celebration that will also include:Musical Treats on Thomas Street from noon to 6pm on December 2, 3, 9, 10;Festive Craft Fair at Bedford Row on December 2 and 3 from 11am to 6pm;Santa’s Post Box on Bedford Row where children can post that all important letter to Santa;Limerick on Ice – Ireland’s longest established ice-ring in Arthurs Quay Park from December 1 to January 7;The Enchanted Christmas horse drawn carriage from December 1 to January 7;Live music at Dolan’s and Live at the Big Top sessions;Christmas themed markets at the Limerick Milk Market on December 14 to 17; and December 21 to 24;A host of magical Santas across Limerick;Christmas Racing Festival at Limerick Racecourse December 26 to 29;New Year’s Eve Fireworks Extravaganza with entertainment from 8.30pm.City centre retailers are being encouraged to open late on Friday nights and on Sundays during December.
