The Cardinals, however, decided to move on from Nkemdiche. We have released DL Robert Nkemdiche.— Arizona Cardinals (@AZCardinals) July 28, 2019Nkemdiche, 24, was selected out of Ole Miss by Arizona with the 29th overall pick of the 2016 draft, but has had a somewhat disappointing career as he struggled with injuries and off-field issues. He suffered a torn ACL in December and was arrested twice last month in separate traffic stops. He had just 43 career tackles and 4.5 sacks in 27 games for Arizona. The move wasn’t surprising, considering Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury’s comments one day earlier, admitting Nkemdiche was “not in shape” when he arrived to camp.”That’s where we’ll leave it. I mean, he’s on (the Physically Unable to Perform list) and he’s working through that. When he is cleared, we’ll work with him,” Kingsbury said Friday, via USA Today.
